Frequently Asked Questions
Questions about application
When do I use the face lotion and when do I use the cream?
In the summer months, the lighter, moisturizing face lotion is popular, while in the colder seasons, the rich cream offers ideal protection from the elements. You can also mix the face lotion and cream in your hand in portions to achieve a pleasant consistency, depending on your mood.
How do I properly use MG Naturkosmetik care products in the evening?
In the evening, if you have young, normal skin, you only need the cleanser, which you wash off with plenty of water. If you have hard tap water, it is recommended to follow up with the appropriate tonic. The cleanser has a moisturizing effect and is then sufficient to protect the skin overnight. We recommend allowing the skin to “breathe” at night, which means that sweat and toxins can reach the surface of the skin unhindered. This keeps your skin healthy and returns to its natural balance. If you have mature, demanding skin or if your skin is tight and red in the morning, use one of our face lotions in the evening.

Questions about our products
What is the difference between a balm and a cream?
Balms are absolutely anhydrous, which means they are not an emulsion of oily and aqueous components.
What is the difference between a cream and a face lotion?
The cream is a water-in-oil emulsion, the face lotion an oil-in-water emulsion. Water-in-oil emulsion (W/O emulsion): In a water-in-oil emulsion, the water is dispersed in small droplets throughout the oil. The oil forms the outer phase, the water the inner phase. These emulsions feel richer and heavier on the skin because the oil content dominates. They form a protective film on the skin that helps retain moisture and strengthen the skin barrier. Oil-in-water emulsion (O/W emulsion): In an oil-in-water emulsion, small oil droplets are dispersed throughout the water. Here, the water forms the outer phase, and the oil is enclosed in the inner phase. These emulsions are lighter, absorb faster, and leave a less greasy film on the skin. They provide moisture and have a pleasantly cooling effect.
Why is the consistency of the creams and masks so heavy or thick?
The skin component of the creams and masks is wool fat. This viscous mass is an excellent emulsifier that also has water-absorbing properties. It is very similar to our body's own fat, is therefore very well tolerated and binds moisture in the skin. It can be used for neurodermatitis, psoriasis, and also extremely dry skin. Therefore, the creams should be used very sparingly and be sure to moisten the skin with tonic beforehand. Creams and lotions can also be mixed individually to suit every skin need.
What is the difference between the HAPPY AGING LINE and the GINSENG LINE?
The HAPPY AGING line is ideal for skin that is struggling with free radicals, i.e. for “sun worshipers”, taxi drivers, smokers, etc. The GINSENG line is for skin in great need of regeneration, for example after serious illnesses, medication, but also after mental illnesses. Most consumers are strongly attracted by their sense of smell, so it also makes sense to smell a product and see whether the scent appeals to you.
Questions about the ingredients
What is cetyl alcohol? And why is this used?
Cetyl alcohol stabilizes the products as a natural consistency agent and emulsifier. It is recommended by the strict guidelines of controlled natural cosmetics. The so-called cetyl alcohol is a fatty alcohol that is obtained from coconut oil extract.
Why don't you use glycerin in the products?
In very dry ambient air (e.g. in winter or when there is strong heating air), glycerin can try to pull moisture from the deeper layers of the skin to the surface if there is not enough moisture in the air. This can theoretically lead to a feeling of dryness. In very high concentrations (e.g. over 10-15%) it can leave a slightly “sticky” feeling on the skin and possibly cause an unpleasant feeling of tightness.
What is Lanolin? And why do we use this ingredient?
Lanolin is the INCI name for wool wax and it can be produced in different ways. We use pure wool grease, also known as Adeps Lanae, which is washed from the wool of sheep. Wool fat is an excellent emulsifier that also has water-absorbing properties. It is very similar to our body's own fat, is therefore well tolerated and binds moisture in the skin. We use the only globally certified organic lanolin available on the market. Our wool wax is technically cleaned, i.e. without the addition of chemicals such as hexane.

Do MG Naturkosmetik products contain preservatives?
We use inherently stable raw materials and natural active ingredients such as essential oils for preservation. These active ingredients have antiviral and antibacterial effects. Our opal glass packaging is UV-impermeable and therefore also has a stabilizing effect. Synthetic preservatives such as parabens, PPGs (popylpropylene glycol) and PEGs (polyethylene glyco) are not included in our products.
Questions about SensiSana
What is SeniSana and what does it stand for?
SensiSana natural cosmetics is a spagyric cosmetic with a strong subtle focus. A high percentage of spagyric essences from our own production enriches the valuable raw materials, which consist of 95% organic content.
Can I combine Martina Gebhardt and SensiSana?
In our experience, the two brands can be combined. But then pure products should remain, i.e. cleanser from one brand and tonic and cream, which are applied to the skin one after the other and mixed, also from one brand. The same applies to cream and lotion when they are mixed for morning care.
Is there a special anti-aging product from the series?
The CAMELIA series has a particularly moisturizing, smoothing, revitalizing and regenerating effect. In addition, the different facial oil capsules are particularly suitable here, especially the evening primrose oil capsules, which counteract premature wrinkle formation and support the regeneration of the skin.
Questions about packaging
How do I empty the lotion completely?
This is a physical problem, pumping creates a cone around the intake pipe. Solid components of the cream hang there. It is best to turn the lotion upside down after use, e.g. in a suitable container and unscrew the dispenser to remove it.
What material are the crucibles/containers made of?
Our containers (bottles and jars) are made of opal glass. As a specialist product par excellence, opal glass combines all the advantages:
- 3 times more resistance to mechanical stress than other materials on the market.
- 100% hygienic, permanently resistant to scratches.
- excellent thermal resistance (the material is resistant to heat shocks of 135° C and therefore survives hot air sterilization without damage. There are therefore no additives required.)
- This environmentally friendly glass is 100% recyclable in green glass containers. Glass recycling protects the environment. Using one ton of recycled glass means saving over 300 kg of CO 2.
What material are the pumps made of?
The pumps are made of various synthetic resins, low density polyethylene. Our pumps and lids all have a safety certificate and are approved for food use.
Questions about spagyrics
How does spagyric work?
Spagyrik is a holistic manufacturing process in which plants are mashed, i.e. water is added to them in a dark vat. The plant material ferments, producing alcohol (spagyrically speaking, the spirit of the plant). After this fermentation process, the active ingredients dissolved and transformed in the fermentation become the spagyric primal essence through steam distillation through evaporation and subsequent condensation. The remaining plant parts (mash) still contain many valuable minerals and trace elements. With ashing (the material, body of the plant) these substances are also dissolved. The dissolution of the ashes in the spagyric primal essence forms the union (spagyric wedding) and at the same time the conclusion of a very complex manufacturing process. Spagyric essences are able to address people on all levels of being, body, mind and soul.
Why does MG Naturkosmetik use spagyric essences as an ingredient?
Spagyric essences are a method of producing medicinal products that have been known for several thousand years. The aim is to ensure that the medicinal herbs contained in the cosmetics pass on the information contained in them to the user through the processing stages they have undergone.
Do the spagyric essences contain alcohol?
The plant ash is dissolved in the distillate and this liquid is evaporated again. We only use the resulting crystals.
Where are the spagyric essences produced?
The spagyric essences for our products from MG Naturkosmetik are produced in-house.
